2021 OUTDOOR Keeper training program

 

This 16 week program has been designed to provide both technical as well as goalkeeper-specific strength training to athletes of all ages and levels. It includes baseline testing throughout the program so that coaches can assess the development of each keeper. 

ABSOLUTE KEEPER 16 WEEK OUTDOOR PROGRAM 2009 & YOUNGER

Program Details: Male and Female keepers between the ages of 8-12 can join AKA. Each 75 minute session is tailored to GK specific positioning, technique, footwork, distribution, decision making and more.

16 Week Training Program Dates: Sessions will run on Mondays & Saturdays between April 26th – August 14th; excluding May 22nd & 24th (May Long Weekend), July 3rd & 5th (Canada Day Long Weekend) and July 31st & August 2nd (August Long Weekend)

Mondays: 5:00 pm – 6:15 pm

Saturdays: 10:00 am – 11:15 am

16 Week Training Program Dates: Sessions will run on Mondays & Saturdays between April 26th – August 14th; excluding May 22nd & 24th (May Long Weekend), July 3rd & 5th (Canada Day Long Weekend) and July 31st & August 2nd (August Long Weekend)

Mondays: 6:15 pm – 7:30 pm OR 7:30 pm – 8:45 pm

Saturdays: 11:15 am – 12:30 pm OR 12:30 pm – 1:45 pm

1 ON 1 PRIVATE TRAINING

The following program is designed to be tailored to your specific needs as a GK to help you grow and improve. 1 on 1 Sessions start as low as $70/hour (16 session block rate).

ABSOLUTE STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

Due to the large amount of time focused on skill specific training, most Keepers have physical deficiencies that prevent them from performing at a peak level. Keepers need to be the quickest player on the field to twist their core or drive their hand out when making a save; therefore, we must train these muscle groups in an explosive manner. Thus, Keepers need a strength and conditioning program that will challenge their bodies balance, core strength, and explosive movements. Sessions will be released on the Physi-Track App twice per week during the 16-Week Outdoor Program.

When: April 26th, 2021 – August 14th, 2021

Where: Training can be performed anywhere

Time: Anytime throughout the training days (see above) – 3 in-season Fitness Tests

Cost: Included in AKA registration fees
